RECALL ALERT: Cancer Agent Found in Blood Thinner

If you take blood thinners, you already know they have scary side effects.

Things like excess bleeding… difficulty breathing… and even coughing up blood are right there on the drug information label.

But the real trouble is with the UNKNOWN side effects.

You see, a new recall for a popular blood thinner has been issued due to contamination with a cancer-causing agent.

And it could be in your medicine cabinet RIGHT NOW.

If you’re taking dabigatran, you need to keep reading.

Ascend Laboratories – the drug manufacturer – is voluntarily recalling dabigatran due to a nitrosamine exceeding the established Acceptable Daily Intake level.

Nitrosamines are found in cured and grilled meats, dairy products, and some cosmetics. Most of us are exposed to these chemicals in daily life but at safe levels.

However, exposure to high levels of these impurities – like the ones found in dabigatran – can increase your risk of developing cancer.

Yuck!

This means not only are you at risk for all of the nasty side effects caused by this blood thinner… now you have to worry about cancer, too!

Even worse? This isn’t the first time – and I’m betting it won’t be the last time – that this carcinogen has been found in mainstream drugs.

So even if this recall doesn’t impact you, it doesn’t mean you won’t be as lucky in the next.

The contaminated pills were distributed nationwide from June 2022 to October 2022 and include 75mg and 150mg capsules.

The following lot numbers are recalled:

  • 22142448,
  • 22142449,
  • 22142450,
  • 22142462,
  • 22142463,
  • 22142464,
  • 22143000,
  • 22143001,
  • 22143002,
  • And 22143845.

At this time, no adverse reactions have been reported. But that could change any day.

If you have recalled medication, reach out to your doctor immediately for guidance on what to do next.

And it’s also a good time to discuss finding alternatives to mainstream drugs.

Because as I said before, this may not be the last time you have to deal with a dangerous recall.
