Are Your Restless Legs WRECKING Your Brain?!
Having restless leg syndrome can feel like living in a never-ending nightmare.
Because the unstoppable urge to move your legs will rob you of your sleep… and your sanity.
And according to new research, that’s just the beginning…
Because having RLS can also WRECK your brain!
Here’s every detail you need to know about this shocking connection.  Â
When you think of the causes of dementia, restless leg syndrome (RLS) may be the last thing that comes to mind…
But as it turns out, it may need to be the first thing you think about.
In a new study published in the journal Alzheimer’s Research and Therapy, researchers looked for a link between the onset of dementia and the RLS status of more than 12,000 seniors over ten years.
And the results were SHOCKING…
The data showed that participants with RLS were 46 percent more likely to develop dementia!
Due to these results, scientists now believe that RLS could be a very early indicator of dementia and may present before memory and cognitive issues.
Other research shows that conditions that disrupt your sleep – like RLS and sleep apnea, for example – can negatively impact your brain functions, including those responsible for memory.
Most mainstream docs use prescription drugs to correct RLS. But this may not be the right approach.
Iron deficiency is often ignored when diagnosing RLS and is often an underlying cause.
Ask your doctor to run a blood iron test if you’re experiencing RLS symptoms. If your iron is low, they may get you started on iron supplements.
You can also get iron through your diet. Iron-rich foods include:
- Oysters,
- Beans,
- Spinach,
- Lentils,
- Beef, Â
- And sardines.
Dark chocolate is my personal favorite when I need an iron boost. Not only is it rich in this powerful mineral, it also satisfies my sweet tooth.
