2-Minute Trick DEFEATS Dementia
Preventing dementia doesn’t always have to be the fight of your life.
We all know that daunting things like regular exercise and cooking healthy meals are sometimes hard to fit into your daily routine.
But that doesn’t mean that these time-consuming methods are the only ways to stop this life-changing disease.  Â
In fact, according to some new research from Japan, there’s a QUICK way to DEFEAT dementia…
And it will only take you two minutes from start to finish!
I’m talking about brushing your teeth!Â
Oral hygiene is essential for keeping your smile bright well into your golden years.
Now it looks like it can help you stay sharp, too.
For a recent study, researchers from Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, examined the dental records, brain scans, and memory test results of 172 seniors. All participants were dementia-free at the beginning of the study.
At the end of the four-year study period, the results showed that folks who suffered from gum disease and tooth loss had an increased risk of shrinkage in the hippocampus – your brain’s memory center.
In fact, for folks with mild gum disease, their rate of brain shrinkage for every missing tooth was equivalent to one year of brain aging!
And the opposite was true for folks with severe gum disease… they saw an increase of 1.3 years in brain aging for every present tooth.
One reason that brain shrinkage and gum disease could be linked is due to the presence of certain bacteria that can cause increased inflammation.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll be brushing my pearly whites tonight!
Brushing your teeth for two minutes in the morning, evening, and between meals is an excellent way to fight the type of bacteria that can cause gum disease.
If you already suffer from gum disease, talk to your dentist about ways to stop it.
Doing so may just save your memory, too.
