Discovered: 4 Red Flags for Early Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal cancer (cancer in the colon or rectum) is one of those diseases that can sneak up on you.
That’s because its symptoms can be hard to separate from the occasional digestive issues.
It seems like one day you’re okay, and the next, you are fighting for your life.
But it doesn’t have to be this way any longer.Â
Because new research reveals four red flags that clearly indicate early-onset colorectal cancer.
And some of them are so common, you could be experiencing them now.
Like most diseases, the earlier you get a diagnosis, the better the outcome.
Colorectal cancer is no different.
Now, we know exactly what to look for.
For the study, researchers from the Washington School of Medicine in St. Louis looked at the health data of more the 5,000 early onset-colorectal cancer patients – cancer that occur in folks under the age of fifty — looking for a link between certain symptoms and diagnosis.
And boy, did they find one!
The data showed that folks who experienced four specific disorders were linked to an increased risk of developing the disease. These include:
- Abdominal pain,
- Rectal bleeding,
- Diarrhea,
- And iron deficiency anemia.
In fact, having any one of these symptoms could DOUBLE your risk of developing colorectal cancer.
Even worse? Having two increases your risk by 3.5 times, and having three increases your risk by 6.5 times!
WOWZA!
This means having an upset stomach could indicate you’re at risk for cancer!
Experts report that two symptoms – rectal bleeding and anemia – should be considered seriously and could indicate it’s time for a colonoscopy.
Now, I know this study was in folks under 50.
But that doesn’t mean you should ignore these red flags if you’re older.
Catching a disease early is the best way to beat it, no matter your age.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, NOW is the time to talk to your doctor about scheduling a colonoscopy and other cancer tests.
Doing so might save your life.
