This Sleep Condition is WRECKING Your BrainĀ

If there’s one thing we all need to stay healthy it’s proper sleep.

Because without it, we have a greater risk of developing heart disease… gaining weight… and becoming diabetic.

Now we know that having a specific sleep condition can put you on the fast track to developing Alzheimer’s, too.

And the real problem? You may not even know you have it.

I’m talking about sleep apnea. This condition – which causes loud snoring and oxygen loss to your brain – is very dangerous to your health.Ā Ā

I’ve told you before how it can lead to issues with your memory and emotions.

But that’s just the beginning.

For the new study published in Neurology, researchers analyzed the genetic risk, memory test scores, sleep study results, and brain scans of 122 healthy seniors.

At the end, they found that folks with beta-amyloid buildup – the root cause of Alzheimer’s – and sleep apnea were more likely to have lower brain volume and poorer memory test scores than folks without the condition.

This means that folks in the early stages of cognitive decline can experience an acceleration of the disease if they also suffer from sleep apnea.

YIKES!

The only thing worse than experiencing memory loss is experiencing it faster!

Researchers believe that sleep apnea negatively impacts your memory because it causes a lack of oxygen to the parts of your brain responsible for learning and memory.

But the biggest issue here is that most folks don’t know they have sleep apnea.

One of the biggest signs is loud snoring.

So, if you or your partner snore, it’s time to talk to your doctor.

He can prescribe a sleep study to determine whether you have sleep apnea.

If you have this life-changing condition, getting a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure), machine is the best way to improve nighttime breathing and reverse OSA. It uses mild air pressure to keep your airways open during sleep.

Another way to stop sleep apnea is by losing weight.
